Following Off-White™️‘s recent humanitarian endeavors, the Virgil Abloh-led label has launched a new program intended to consistently support socially-conscious causes. “I Support Young Black Businesses” is a new project that places its eponymous mantra front and center, using the Italian label’s star power to raise money for charity.
Designed back in 2019, the tee was first worn by tap dancer Cartier Williams before Off-White™️’s Fall/Winter 2020 menswear show. Appropriately, the “I Support Young Black Designers” designs get straight to the point. The verbiage is realized in a bold, all-caps red print at the front of monochrome T-shirts and hoodies, while Off-White™️’s revised logo graces the rear.
All proceeds of the $220 USD T-shirt and $440 USD hoodies will benefit Chicago CRED, which stands for “Create Real Economic Destiny.” The organization, based in Abloh’s home city, has worked with the creative since 2017 with the aims of reducing local gun violence by creating opportunities in the fashion industry for underserved communities.
Furthermore, this offering kicks off Off-White™️’s ongoing “I Support Young Black Businesses” fundraising initiative, which will continue to support charities selected by Abloh and his team quarterly.
