Ubisoft's 'Watch Dogs: Legion' Lets You Be Anyone in New Gameplay Trailer
Every NPC is at your fingertips.
Ubisoft Forward 2020 debuted, revealing several new gaming trailers, including one for Watch Dogs: Legion. The title was showcased in an almost 8-minute gameplay trailer. Legion takes place in a dystopian London, and the franchise’s subversive hacking group DedSec has been framed for a series of bombings by a clandestine technologically-advanced group called “Zero-Day.”
As a result, the government formed a private company called Albion to restore order, which transitions into an authoritarian rule that allows the company to operate swiftly and harshly. It is up to the player to take London back from Albion CEO Nigel Cass and his gang of affiliated criminals. Unlike the original titles, using deadly force won’t be as simple a solution. As such, players can recruit and utilize any character available in the game to partake in an action another character couldn’t, even when it comes to opening certain doors.
There is no main character in Legion, with players merely representing the interest of DedSec via the actions of every player you decide to use. At the start of the title, players will have a small selection of recruits to choose from, but you must pick up others who will add useful attributes to your team.
Recruitment sometimes involves flipping a citizen into a DedSec synpathizer to add them to your team. You can help them resolve an issue or take on an objective before they join. Everyone has their own price in the rough future streets of London. What’s more, your character can die during a mission, and they won’t return.
