Dr. Woo Etches Artful Tattoos Over NEIGHBORHOOD's Incense Chamber
Embellished with a 24K gold plated skull.
Dr. Woo‘s artful tattoos have found a new canvas. NEIGHBORHOOD has signed on the artist for a bold take on a ceramic incense chamber. This release follows a collaboration between the Japanese label and Mr. Cartoon for the “Uncle Toons Mart” capsule from last month.
The piece is etched with an intricate array of motifs and shadings in the signature style of Dr. Woo, fired in a monochromatic design as opposed to the usual blue color scheme NEIGHBORHOOD ceramics come in. A 24K gold plated skull is placed at the top of the chamber, nestled over the pistil of a rose that’s held up by a hand. The hand is decorated with motifs like two snakes forming a double-helix, various geometric patterns, spider webs and a hooded figure with butterfly wings. All of these details rest over a sleek square base marked with “DR. WOO,” “Los Angeles * Tokyo” and “Angel of Mercy,” while “NEIGHBORHOOD” branding is stamped on the underside.
The Dr. Woo x NEIGHBORHOOD “BOOZE” Incense Chamber will be available on July 22, 11 p.m. EDT on NEIGHBORHOOD’s website for $205 USD.
