Joey Bada$$ Triumphantly Returns With 'The Light Pack' Trilogy
After releasing ‘All-Amerikkkan Bada$$’ back in 2017.
Making his triumphant return, Joey Bada$$ has now released a three-track trilogy, titled The Light Pack. Serving as his first solo releases since the drop of All-Amerikkkan Bada$$ back in 2017, “The Light,” “No Explanation,” and “Shine” come as a reintroduction to the Brooklyn rapper.
“The Light” is accompanied by a music video co-directed by Kerby Jean-Raymond and touches or recent events in the United States. The visual sees Joey take part in a traditional voodoo ceremony in search of a rebirth. “My purpose with this visual is to inspire black people to realizer their power and take it back, as I did. Don’t be afraid of who you are, that’s their job. We are magic, said the rapper.” Another standout on the project is “No Explanation,” complete a choice feature from Pusha T who builds on powerful message of the project.
