Close Out Your Weekend With Gaidaa's New "Stranger" Track
Featuring Saba and Jarreau Vandal.
Dutch-Sudanese singer Gaidaa has been rising in prominence since her feature on Full Crate’s “A Storm On A Summer’s Day” back in 2018. Now the burgeoning R&B musician has released her own debut EP this summer, Overture. If you’re not familiar with Gaidaa yet, her new single from the EP “Stranger” makes the perfect introduction.
The low-key track features verses from Saba and Jarreau Vandal, the latter of whom previously collaborated with Gaidaa on the single “Nothing Nice,” also featuring Kojey Radical. “Stranger,” along with Overture‘s other seven tracks, offers an introspective, soulful listen that is just right for the final weeks of summer.
“To me Overture is not only my introduction to the world, but essentially my reintroduction to myself, my rediscovery and re-creation of Gaidaa,” the 21-year-old singer told Okayplayer of her debut EP in a recent interview.
Gaidaa released the first single from Overture back in April, “Falling Higher.” As she told Flaunt, the track was inspired by her time in New York and produced with SamTrax.
