Open Mike Eagle Teams with Adult Swim Singles For "I'm A JoeStar" Music Video
Featuring some of the best moments from ‘JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind’.
Open Mike Eagle has teamed with Adult Swim‘s Adult Swim Singles music arm for a new “I’m A JoeStar” music video. Paying homage to popular anime/manga series JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, the video features some of the best moments from the show’s Golden Wind block.
In typical Open Mike Eagle fashion, the song is compromised of bars both witty and humorous. To open things up, Mike states that he’s “one part cool and two parts comical,” says “I drink too much beer, I should eat more vegetables,” and quips that he “keeps his hair asymmetrical” in true anime fashion. As the verses move on, he reiterates his JoeStar status during the chorus.
At the song’s apex, Mike discusses his own version of the story — set in South Central Los Angeles — in which he becomes titular character JoJo, saying “it’s a special edition of Open Mike’s manga.” The song’s final verse is concluded with increasingly specific JoeStar comparisons.
