Benny Gold Un-Retires With Black Lives Matter T-Shirt
The influential creative has returned to issue a charitable drop.
When Benny Gold officially shuttered his eponymous brand in 2019, it put the pin in a 15-year career that spanned all areas of street culture. The Californian creative occasionally issued a new piece of artwork but mostly kept focused on personal endeavors in past year-and-a-half, but recent social justice uprisings have spurred Gold out of retirement for a new charitable endeavor.
Gold’s contribution to the ongoing global struggle for Black recognition is his first tangible product in nearly two years. The Benny Gold-branded black T-shirt is laden with contrasting graphics on the front and rear, focused on a stylized Raised Fist inside of a speech bubble. Surrounding text explains the intent: “All Together, One Voice” and “Black Lives Matter, No More Silence.” 100% of the design’s proceeds will benefit Black Lives Matter and SO OAKLAND.
You can pre-order one of the charitable shirts on Benny Gold’s website.
Other charitably-minded Black Lives Matter initiatives have recently been introduced by the likes of Ghetto Gastro. Botter, GALLERY DEPT. and a collective of Japanese fashion brands.
