New 'Adventure Time: Distant Lands' Trailer Is a Wild Sci-Fi Ride

HBO Max and Cartoon Network shared a full trailer for the upcoming Adventure Time: Distant Lands special starring BMO. The preview above features the tiny talking handheld landing on a space station full of hostile aliens looking to bring the world to its destruction.

BMO teams up with a new humanoid bunny character to save the station and finally become a hero. It would appear the special will break away from the adventures of Finn and Jake to explore the greater universe beyond the familiar setting of Ooo.

According to a previous press release, these are the official synopsis’ of three upcoming Adventure Time spinoffs:

Obsidian features Marceline & Princess Bubblegum as they journey to the imposing, beautiful Glass Kingdom — and deep into their tumultuous past — to prevent an earthshaking catastrophe.

Wizard City follows Peppermint Butler, starting over at the beginning, as just another inexperienced Wizard School student. When mysterious events at the campus cast suspicion on Pep, and his checkered past, can he master the mystic arts in time to prove his innocence?

Together Again brings Finn and Jake together again, to rediscover their brotherly bond and embark on the most important adventure of their lives.

The trailer states that Adventure Time: Distant Lands is coming soon, but it’s unknown if the special will be an HBO Max launch or a title due later this summer.

In other entertainment news, all 10 episodes of The Twilight Zone season 2 are dropping on CBS All Access this summer.
