Ben & Jerry's Unveils New Flavor as Nod to Netflix's 'Space Force'
Dubbed “Boots on the Mooo’n.”
Ben & Jerry‘s has unveiled a brand new flavor as a nod to Netflix‘s upcoming Steve Carell satire Space Force. Called “Boots on the Moooo’n,” the name of the new flavor draws inspiration from the show’s narrative — the goal of trying to get boots on the moon — mixed in with a cheeky nod to cows.
According to Ben & Jerry’s, the flavor embodies “a universe of milk chocolate ice cream with fudge cows and toffee meteor clusters orbiting a sugar cookie dough core.” A short, comical teaser for the ice cream captures this description: a team of scientists launching a pint into space to watch it roam around the stratosphere. Both “SPACE FORCE” and “Netflix” branding is placed at the lid of the pint, while a quirky illustration of the ice cream is printed on the front of the packaging. Towards the end of the video, the phrase “coming soon to freezer space near you” pops up, before safely landing back down to Earth in the hands of a farmer whose cows curiously tread behind him.
Ben & Jerry’s “Boots on the Mooo’n” Space Force will be available at select grocery stores nationwide on May 29, coinciding with the launch of Netflix’s Space Force.
