'Apex Legends' Season 5 Adds PvE Mode for "The Broken Ghost" Quest
A new mode that updates weekly.
Respawn Entertainment will be adding a new player-versus-environment mode to Apex Legends Season 5. The new Seasonal Quest this month is called “The Broken Ghost”, and it tasks players to find nine “mysterious artifact” pieces. Players will drop into the Kings Canyon map at night with a target location to reach before time runs out, all while taking on AI-controlled enemies from the recent Bloodhound’s Trials event.
The new mode will also serve as part of the new story introduced in season 5, which focuses on a secret relic every Legend is in search of in the Outlands. The title will also introduce new Treasure Packs, which functions similarly to regular loot and rewards players with Crafting Materials, battle pass XP, Apex Packs, and new Hunts. However, the items do not store in your inventory, so if players die in-game they won’t lose what they’ve collected.
Hunts are new weekly missions that send solo players or squads searching for the previously mentioned artifact pieces while fighting off enemies. If players complete a mission that’s been unlocked from a Treasure Pack, they may earn a piece of the artifact needed to complete the Seasonal Quest.
Season 5 is also set to introduce a new character named Loba (as seen in the trailer above) alongside some new map changes. The first of nine hunts will be unlocked on May 19, a week after Season 5 begins on May 12, with the next eight unlocking every week afterward. Each Hunt after the first will be released once a week until all nine are available to play.
In other gaming news, The Sims 4 recently announced an “Eco Lifestyle” expansion pack.
