Mustard Hotel Shibuya Unveils Work Benches and Apparel With M&M
A project aimed at delivering “the hidden taste of the town.”

Since opening in 2018, Mustard Hotel Shibuya has become a tourist attraction in Tokyo and a creative space for local collaborative projects. This time, the hotel has teamed up with creative group M&M for a range of furniture and apparel items aimed at introducing the culture of Shibuya to hotel guests.
Playing off the hotel’s name, the project includes a paint bench, stool bench and circle stool — some of which are used in the actual hotel rooms — in a yellow colorway resembling the condiment. Contrasting with the hotel rooms’ minimal design, the furniture pieces bring a heritage-inspired aesthetic, featuring black and white co-branding and bold star detailing.
Other collaborative items include a double-sided key ring in two different sizes and a wooden tray with gold embellishments. Rounding off the collaboration are a series of work shirts embroidered with “House Keeping” in script font. Available in gray and blue striped, the standard button-up silhouettes are accented with yellow “MandM” patches, Mustard Hotel Shibuya branding and two front pockets.
Take a closer look at the Mustard Hotel Shibuya and M&M collaboration above. Ranging from ¥990 to ¥27,780 JPY (approx. $10 to $260 USD), the items are available to pre-order now on Mustard Hotel’s web store.
Elsewhere in design, BMW has released a new electric kiddie car as part of its 2020 lifestyle collection.
