At the top of the month, Rick And Morty dropped off a surprise “Samurai & Shogun” short that transported fans to Feudal Japan in a clip produced by celebrated anime creators Studio DEEN. Then Adult Swim released a video teaser titled “The Other Five” and announced that the remaining Season 4 episodes would begin to arrive May 3 at the customary time of 11:30PM EDT.

The animation team behind Rick And Morty have banded together to give a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the latest season, talking about the challenges and hardships that come with the show’s growing scope and popularity. Technical Director David Marshall detailed how more ambitious cinematography has increased workflow while Art Director James McDermott and Director Bryan Newton highlighted the incredible detail that goes into intricate crowd scenes this season. The crew also hinted at an upcoming battle scene reminiscent of something out of the Game of Thrones world.
