Snow Peak Unveils Weatherized "OUTDOOR KIMONO" SS20 Capsule
In collaboration with century-old garmentmaker Yamato Kimono.
Snow Peak has unveiled a set of weatherized pieces from its brand new Spring/Summer 2020 capsule, dubbed “OUTDOOR KIMONO.” This release follows the label’s spring archive sale from earlier this month, where prices were slashed by up to 60 percent.
Featuring two elongated sets of kimono silhouettes, DWR Lightweight OUTDOOR KIMONO and Quick Dry OUTDOOR KIMONO, the pieces were made in collaboration with long-established garmentmaker Yamato Kimono, which has been crafting traditional kimonos for over 100 years.
Both garments have been constructed with a long cut that covers the entire body, coming with billowing sleeves and a boxy, oversized fit that extends all the way down to the feet. The Quick Dry OUTDOOR KIMONO sports a durable water-repellent exterior shell that comes with a clean, subtle sheen. Embracing mostly a minimal design, the piece sees a slim adjustable ripstop waist belt that offers some slight cinching. The DWR Lightweight OUTDOOR KIMONO sees a similar cut, made using Dot Air fabric that’s highly breathable. Furthermore, the garment features a magnetic pouch that attached just a little above the waist and a clip-on buckle belt at the side, while other details like the reinforced collars round up the piece’s design.
Snow Peak’s DWR Lightweight OUTDOOR KIMONO and Quick Dry OUTDOOR KIMONO will be available on the label’s website on April 24 $361 USD and $491 USD, respectively.
