'Saints Row: The Third Remaster' Revealed in New Trailer
The 2011 open-world parody title gets a facelift.
PlayStation has dropped a new reveal trailer for an upcoming remastered version of developer Deep Silver‘s acclaimed Saints Row: The Third title. The open-world game, originally released in 2011, will be available on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One next month.
It is a parody of Grand Theft Auto-style sandbox games that depicts gang life and drug wars with the addition of silly premises, outlandish characters, and over-the-top weaponry. According to a statement given to Polygon from Deep Silver, the remastered game will feature “retextured environments, character models and visual effects, enhanced graphics and a new lighting engine.” The game will still run 30 fps on PlayStation 4 and Xbox consoles, according to Slashgear.
The remaster will also include the original game’s three expansion packs and DLC. Saints Row: The Third, focuses on a post-industrial city gang boss who evolved his/her gang into a successful corporation. However, the protagonist and their company are threatened by an aggressive crime syndicate looking to for their cut of the pie. A Nintendo Switch port of the original game was recently released last year.
Saints Row: The Third Remastered will be available on PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One on May 22 for $39.99 USD.
In other gaming news, Nintendo has launched a customization program for the Switch.
