Grafh and Royce Da 5'9" Exchange Clever Bars in New Visuals for "Agenda"
Produced by DJ Green Lantern.
New York rapper Grafh has unveiled a brand new music video for his single “Agenda,” a cut off his LP Oracle III released last month. The 15-track album is packed with a dynamic range of sounds that shine a light on the rapper’s affinity for rich lyricism. Joining the roster of features, from the likes of Benny the Butcher, Hopsin and Bun B, to name a few, “Agenda” is the 14th track on the LP in collaboration with Royce Da 5’9.”
Produced by DJ Green Lantern, the track is steeped in nuanced ’90s-inspired instrumentals that are reminiscent of old school New York hip-hop, perhaps the kind of sound you’d hear from A Tribe Called Quest during the Midnight Marauders era. Its jazzy, muted synths and crisp drums drive Grafh’s distinctive flow forward as he lays on a series of clever lines. Notable lyrics include the opening part of the first verse “I’m back with the spirit of Nipsey / Take a brick and I scissored it crispy / Silencer on the nickel got it whistlin’ Dixie / My soul got soul, my spirit is drippin’ in whiskey” and “I date project bitches that’ll jump your mother / Come for supper, all we servin’ is guns and butter.” Royce Da 5’9” comes in on the second verse, with an equally lyrical set of bars, like “Finally graduated, my dad said go to the army / I went and got famous and joined the Rihanna Navy” and “You’ll prob’ly burn from the smoke if you don’t inhale / Hurt people hurtin’ to hurt, word to the homie Kells.” Accompanying the track is a music video that shows both rappers exchanging their cleverly written verses.
