Ether Da Connect Recruits Waka Flocka for Remix of Drill Anthem "Waka"
Bringing the Bricksquad icon out of retirement.
Brooklyn rapper Ether Da Connect has been rising fast amongst Brooklyn’s drill wave over the past year, taking the streets by storm with machine-gun poetics and vivid street tales. After releasing his Waka Flocka homage “Waka” last year alongside fellow Brooklyn drill upstart Fivio Foreign and Latin drill rapper Swipey, Ether has now brought the Bricksquad icon out of retirement for a remix of the track.
Rapping over a furious 808-clad backdrop, Ether drawls out heady bars about “doing it like Waka,” intermingling a slew of pop culture references into humorous lyrical portraits. Swipey backs this up with his usual flair, rapping out a few bilingual bars before Flockaveli takes over. Riding along with the Brooklyn artists, Flocka relays his brisk antics, meshing surprisingly well with his drill-focused counterparts. The video relays the heavy Brooklyn underpinnings, showcasing all three rappers in a club dancing energetically alongside a slew of females.
