Originally launched in 1984, with its name being traced back to the 1940s, the Chronomat is receiving a massive update from Breitling for 2020, the Swiss luxury watchmaker now offering a whole range of options in both colors and materials.
The 10 new models for 2020 all come equipped with the brand’s in-house Manufacture Caliber 01, a COSC-certified, fully automatic movement with 47 jewels and a power reserve of a whopping 70 hours despite running at a smooth 28,800 vibrations per hour. The Swiss movement is housed in a wrist-friendly 42mm case constructed from either stainless steel or 18k rose gold, which are then adorned by a whole variety of dials colored in green, blue, or black, and even silver or copper. Of course, the modern Chronomat also retains its emblematic rotating bezel decorated by the signature riding tabs, paired perfectly with the new stainless steel Rouleaux bracelets which are also available in a two-toned finish. A windowed caseback provides a view into the movement, and works together with the case to provide a 200-meter water resistance — plenty for an all-purpose timepiece.
For those interested, all the 2020 Breitling Chronomat models are now available over on the company’s website, with prices ranging from $8,100 USD to $20,200 USD.
Elsewhere in watches, Timex is adding three new colors to its iconic Q model.
