Tory Lanez Reflects on Life Before His Success in "W"
A possible first listen to his upcoming ‘New Toronto 3’ mixtape.
Tory Lanez has dropped off a short but sweet new single, “W.” Clocking in at just under two minutes, the new track features the artist contemplating on his life before getting famous. Spitting laidback rhymes over a solemn beat, he raps lyrics like “I never saw us becoming famous in my imagination/Sat in too many rooms with losers who was procrastinatin’” and “When your influence too big then they assassinate ya/When you keep this sh*t too real they wanna fabricate ya” to show that his success is well-deserved and that he’s not stopping any time soon.
The album art for “W” sees a child, possibly Lanez’s son, sporting a Toronto chain, alluding to the possibility that the track will be part of his upcoming mixtape, New Toronto 3. He announced the project in late February after revealing that his deal with Interscope was finally finished.
