Rare Takashi Murakami Prints Now Available at Giant Robot Store

Vivid depictions of ‘Mr. DOB’ and smiling ‘Flowers.’

Contemporary art seller Giant Robot just launched a rare selection of Takashi Murakami prints. One of the highlighted pieces is an offset lithograph portraying Murakami’s large-scale triptych entitled 727999. Measuring 25.9 x 38.5 inches, the artwork features the Japanese artist’s signature Mr. DOB character in a spray-painted backdrop with drippy motifs and psychedelic visual elements for good measure. Another standout piece from the batch is 21 x 29-inch work titled An Homage to Monopink, 1960 A that depicts an explosive array of Murakami’s smiling Flowers imagery.

Check out select pieces in the slideshow above and then head to Giant Robot’s website to purchase a limited edition variant. Prices range from $1,520 USD to $5,520 USD.

Elsewhere in art, a federal appeals court in New York City recently ruled that 5Pointz developers must pay $6.8 million USD to the graffiti artists whose works they whitewashed.
