Back in December, Only NY delivered a colorful range of classic streetwear silhouettes commissioned by the City of New York. This time around, the label has unveiled its SS20 lookbook, highlighting a lineup of American staples that echo distinctive Big Apple sensibilities.
Featured is a slew of garments like graphic T-shirts, sweaters, hoodies, button-ups, long-sleeves, shorts, baseball shirts, nylon trousers and other accessories like hats and socks, tinged in bright warm-weather palettes. One noteworthy piece is the navy Arts Baseball Jersey, made up of breathable mesh fabrics. It boasts a semi-boxy cut, complemented by a scooped hemline and a flat collar. “ARTS” is woven across the front of the piece, crossing over a row of glossy black buttons at the center, while a white “Only NY” patch logo is placed at the bottom left corner.
Another highlight is the gray T-shirt emblazoned with a set of graphics depicting a spread of different types of fly fishing baits. Each bait is labeled in a thinly italicized serif-font that was widely used in the ’90s, though still greatly used today, specifying the type of insect that can be used for fishing. As a final touch, the words “The Art of Fly Tying” is placed at the bottom in red, popping out from the muted gray shade of the shirt. Other garments like the brown corduroy shorts, “Harriman” climbing pants, blue anorak, outdoor-inspired five-panel, black logo hoodie, and beige zip-up jacket round up the expansive assemblage.
