Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for its upcoming police thriller The Little Things, starring three Academy Award winners: Denzel Washington, Rami Malek and Jared Leto.

According to its synopsis, The Little Things follows two police officers on the hunt for a serial killer as a series of murders take place. Washington plays the role of Kern County Deputy Sheriff Joe “Deke” Deacon, who is sent to Los Angeles for a routine evidence-gathering assignment but gets entangled by the murder investigations led by Malek’s character Sergeant Jim Baxter. The duo gets onto the tail of a potential suspect played by Jared Leto, but the journey takes an even darker turn when disturbing secrets from Deke’s troubling past begin to uncover.

The three Oscar winners will be joined by Natalie Morales, Terry Kinney, Chris Bauer, Joris Jarsky, Isabel Arraiza and Michael Hyatt on the cast, while The Blind Side‘s John Lee Hancock will be directing.

The Little Things is scheduled for release at theaters and on HBO Max on January 29, 2021.
