Official Look at the Nike Air Max 95 "Neon"
One of the most seminal Air Maxes ever, the “Neon” is coming back for the holiday season.
It’s been 25 years since Nike‘s seminal Air Max 95 “Neon” made its retail debut in 1995, so the Swoosh is honoring a quarter century of “Neon” with a true-to-the-original re-release. Designed by Sergio Lozano and inspired by human anatomy, the “Neon” was the aspirational peak of ’90s Air Max footwear to many — Salehe Bembury, Thibo Denis and others selected it as their favorite Air Max ever for HYPEBEAST’s “What Max Means To Me” Air Max Day roundtable — and is still desirable as ever to new and old heads alike in 2020, following up its last release in 2018.
Uppers are centered around wavy anatomy-inspired side panels with a grayscale fade, starting with light tones on the top before shifting to dark on the bottom. There’s also multiple dashes of eponymous neon present on the eyelets, small heel Swoosh and circular tongue badge. The tongue itself is done up in white and surrounded by black jersey mesh. Fine white mesh netting serves as a sheath of sorts, covering parts of the eyelets and dropping down onto the toebox, where it’s overlaid by a dark gray toe cap. A dash of hi-vis reflective material appears on the heel, bringing the top half together. Down below, black EVA foam midsoles hold neon green Air Max cushioning units in heel and forefoot alike. Outsoles complete with OG “Neon” PSI markings finalize the look.
The Nike Air Max 95 “Neon” has been reported for a December 17 release date, though this has yet to be confirmed by the Swoosh. The MSRP will likely be set at $180 USD.
