Illegal Civ Releases Official Trailer for 'North Hollywood' Film
The coming-of-age tale was written by Mikey Alfred, produced by Pharrell and stars Miranda Cosgrove, Vince Vaughn and Ryder McLaughlin.
Mikey Alfred‘s Illegal Civ has released the official trailer for its highly anticipated North Hollywood film. A coming-of-age tale centered around skateboarding and growing up in California, North Hollywood stars Miranda Cosgrove, Vince Vaughn, Ryder McLaughlin and more.
In the nearly two and a half minute long clip, viewers see the outline of the film, with McLaughlin’s character getting into a fight with one of the players on his water polo team, talking to his father (Vaughn) about wanting to focus on becoming a pro skater, meeting Cosgrove, getting his head shaved and much more. The trailer also shows other cast members like Blake Anderson from Workaholics and Angus Cloud of Euphoria fame, plus several pro skaters. The film is directed by Alfred and produced by Pharrell.
Due to its star-filled cast, cultural associations and timely nature, North Hollywood may seem like a surefire hit. However, it was quizzically rejected by many distributors for being “too small” and “too specific” despite the successful nature of films in the same vein like Jonah Hill’s mid90s. As of the date of writing, a theatrical release has yet to be announced.
