BEAMS Recruits Engineered Garments for Refined Militaria Patchwork
The New York brand has blessed the Japanese retailer with seasonal exclusives.
BEAMS has already launched timely exclusives from the likes of Salomon and Arc’teryx but the influential Japanese shop has much more up its sleeve. Fall/Winter 2020 sees the release of BEAMS’ latest Engineered Garments collaboration, tapping the New York-based brand for a series of garments that accompany seasonal collections from BEAMS PLUS and BEAMS BOY.
PLUS enjoys the wider variety of exclusives over its youthful counterpart; the menswear sub-label boasts an entire EG capsule collection. Ranging from a trim tropical wool Mid Field Blazer to serge Balmizon Coats to trim Glassfield pants, the assortment is as svelte and versatile as the usual BEAMS PLUS lineup, simultaneously informed by Engineered Garments’ familiar predilection for militaria.
BEAMS BOY, meanwhile, only receives a single special style, but it’s perhaps the most exciting item of the lot. Here, the womenswear label adopts a genderless patchwork Highland Coat, transforming the classic M-51 fishtail parka into a detail-laden extravaganza. Plenty of pockets grace the color-blocked coat’s inside and outside, while adjustable snaps and straps allow the wearer to either adjust the fit or wear the garment off their shoulders when the weather heats up.
Engineered Garments’ unique FW20 items are only available on BEAMS’ web store.
Not content to only create one bespoke offering this season, Engineered Garments also introduced a special range for Canadian retailer HAVEN.
