Fresh from its collaborative chocolatey NMD release alongside Pharrell Williams earlier this month, adidas now revisits the forward-thinking sneaker, this time with a more outdoors vibe in mind.

Designed to combat treacherous winter elements, this all-new NMD R1 Trail arrives fully equipped with a waterproof upper that’s been doused in GORE-TEX and subtle tonal branding.

Sat above a grippy Continental outsole that runs around the entire silhouette, the sneaker boasts a stealthy all-black colorway with tonal shading across the upper — as well as the archetypal GORE-TEX branding — and an extended heel tab at the rear.

Completed with the brand’s ultra-responsive BOOST midsole, the adidas NMD R1 Trail GORE-TEX retails at ¥20,900 (approximately $200 USD) and is available to buy now from the adidas webstore.

In other sneaker news, Nike’s Blazer Mid has returned, this time with a double zig zag-stitched Swoosh.
