Salehe Bembury Teases New ANTA Collaboration
The ever-busy designer is taking no time off after the recent release of his Antelope Canyon-inspired New Balance 2002R.
It’s been an eventful past few weeks for Salehe Bembury. Apart from his day job as Vice President of Men’s Sneakers and Footwear at Versace, the talented designer released his highly-anticipated New Balance 2002R collaboration and received the “Designer of the Year” honor from Footwear News’ annual Achievement Awards. However, Bembury is never one to rest on his laurels — and has now begun to tease a new sneaker collaboration with ANTA.
Most well-known in the US as the shoe sponsorer of Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson, ANTA is a Chinese footwear powerhouse that’s aiming to make waves stateside. Bembury has been hinting at a project with ANTA since April, previewing both boot-like high tops and a low-cut hiking silhouette. However, he recently took to his Instagram to share photos of the shoes once again — hinting that their release may be impending.
As can be seen in the image gallery above, Bembury’s low-cut style has been done up in vivid orange, green and red colorways. Each features a one-piece mesh upper that’s bolstered by a rubberized sheath with plenty of cut-out detailing. Midsoles are thick and chunky, with an abstract latticed pattern showing off what appears to be a soft foam core. Hits of ANTA branding and offroad-ready lugged outsoles complete the look.
At the time of writing, a release date or pricing information for Bembury’s latest sneaker collaboration has yet to be announced. More info will likely surface in the forthcoming weeks.
