Klättermusen Launches First Organically Insulated Jacket
Windproof, water-repellant and sustainable.
Swedish outerwear brand Klättermusen has launched its first completely organic insulated outdoor jacket for Fall/Winter 2020. A double winner at this year’s ISPO, the Farbaute — as its been named — won gold in the outdoors category, and also took home an award for a commitment to sustainability.
With a desire to challenge the industry’s reliance on synthetic fabrics and insulation techniques, Klättermusen used Katla Cotton for the outer — a brand-designed fabric made from 100% organic cotton. Inspired by processes seen in nature, the cotton is subjected to pressure and heat to resemble geological compaction, which results in a fabric that is windproof, water repellant and highly breathable.
Further demonstrating its commitment to organic materials, the Farbaute’s core insulation comes from nature with a blend of white goose down, Swiss wool and biopolyester. Its box-wall construction ensures maximum insulation and no gaps for cold air to seep in.
Arriving in three colorways — “Midnight Blue”, “Raven Burnt” and “Dusty Green” — the Farbaute jacket is available from the Klättermusen webstore, retailing at £600 (approximately $775 USD).
In other news, Joyce has kept things simple for its Fall/Winter 2020 collection.
