Rostam Delivers First Song in Two Years, "Unfold You"
Arriving with an accompanying visual filmed along Provincetown’s Dune Shacks Trail.
Rostam Batmanglij has dropped off his first song in two years entitled “Unfold You.”
The new single follows 2018’s “In a River” and samples Nick Hakim’s “Papas Fritas” with a sax solo from Henry Solomon,” who Rostam worked with on HAIM‘s “Summer Girl.” The former Vampire Weekend member explained in a statement that “Unfold You” took years to create “because the recording of the song tracks an evolution and a personal metamorphosis.” He also confirmed that a full-length album is on the way, revealing, “As I write this, I’m finishing a record that deals intrinsically with the subject of change and change was what I was feeling personally and searching for musically.”
“Unfold You” arrives with a self-directed music video that sees Rostam and actress/model Hari Nef walking along Provincetown’s Dune Shacks Trail. He explained that he and Nef actually met in Cape Cod last Summer, and bonded quickly over their many shared interests.
