Prints from over 150 leading artists and photographers are spotlighted in States of Change’s online fundraiser to raise awareness for local organizations that are encouraging people to submit their votes in five crucial swing states: Arizona, Florida, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Launched in collaboration with the Movement Voter Project, the campaign features pieces by Ed Ruscha, Catherine Opie, Cindy Sherman, Gordon Parks, Kim Gordon, Sally Mann, Robert Frank, Stephen Shore, Nan Goldin, Steve McCurry, Alec Soth, among many others.

States of Change was created by a collective of artists who aim to fight voter suppression. The group includes Mitchell Barton, Matthew Booth, Alice Braccini, Trevor Clement, Jim Goldberg, Gregory Halpern, Shayna McClelland, Alessandra Sanguinetti and Korey Vincent. The project was inspired by the Pictures of Elmhurst initiative that was launched earlier this year to help raise money to fight COVID-19 at the Elmhurst Hospital Center in Queens, New York.

The Movement Voter Project, which aims to build long-term power for the progressive movement, has selected 42 local community-based groups that focus on youth and communities of color. Apart from getting out the vote and fighting voter suppression, the initiatve also empowers underprivileged communities to create lasting change. The groups are offering information on early voting, polls protection and voter disenfranchisement.

The prints measure ten by twelve inches and are priced at $150 USD (excluding shipping costs). Each piece arrives unsigned and are available in an open edition. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards efforts that elevate voter turnout. Head to State of Change’s website for more information.

In related news, Jenny Holzer has created a series of animations encouraging people to vote.
