RED Releases Its Most Affordable 6K Model Yet

American cinematography equipment expert RED has unveiled its latest Komodo camera, one of the brand’s more affordable options with 6K capabilities.
The core of the camera is a 6K S35 global shutter sensor with boasting 19.9 megapixels, offering a 6144×3240 resolution. Designed to be a workhorse for those on set, it covers over 16 stops in dynamic range, up to 280 MB/s data transfer rates when using the appropriate CFast memory cards, and most importantly supports Canon RF mounts. The Komodo also supports a range of common audio and monitor ports, wireless control via an Android or iOS device, and even two slots for BP-9XX Canon batteries, all the while just weighing 2.1 lbs. Rounding out its functionality is a 2.0-inch touchscreen LCD with a 1440×1440 resolution on the back of the body.
The RED Digital Cinema Komodo 6K camera is now available over on the company’s website, retailing for $5,995 USD.
