American cinematography equipment expert RED has unveiled its latest Komodo camera, one of the brand’s more affordable options with 6K capabilities.

The core of the camera is a 6K S35 global shutter sensor with boasting 19.9 megapixels, offering a 6144×3240 resolution. Designed to be a workhorse for those on set, it covers over 16 stops in dynamic range, up to 280 MB/s data transfer rates when using the appropriate CFast memory cards, and most importantly supports Canon RF mounts. The Komodo also supports a range of common audio and monitor ports, wireless control via an Android or iOS device, and even two slots for BP-9XX Canon batteries, all the while just weighing 2.1 lbs. Rounding out its functionality is a 2.0-inch touchscreen LCD with a 1440×1440 resolution on the back of the body.
