Harley-Davidson Pedals Into the Future With Serial 1 eBike
The new electric bicycle is inspired by the very first motorbike it made in 1903.
Heritage American motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson has unveiled its first foray into the world of eBikes, showcasing the Serial 1 — a bicycle that’s inspired by the marque’s “Serial Number One” motorbike from 1903.
This gorgeous eBike finds the perfect balance between old and new, combining a vintage aesthetic with all the contemporary eBike necessities you’d expect to find. For example, a thin black frame acts as the base for a brown tan leather seat and complementing handlebars, while retro-styled white tires wrap around two multi-spoke rims.
The brown belt is flexible and, of course, connected to an electric motor that helps drive the bike when you no longer want to pedal, while light-up logos have been added to help bring the Serial 1 into the modern-day. Altogether, this official eBike is very different from the concepts we saw back in 2019.
Pricing for the Harley-Davidson Serial 1 is yet to be announced, but reports suggest that this eBike could be in-line with competitive machines and launch in the few-thousand-dollars range. Little else is known, but a countdown on the dedicated Serial 1 website ending on November 16 implies more information could be revealed soon. Harley-Davidson is due to release the Serial 1 in March 2021.
