Atari Taps Architectural Expert Gensler for Cyperpunk-Styled Hotels
Joining the previously-announced two in Phoenix and Las Vegas.
Earlier in January, Atari announced its plans to partner up with hotel management firm GSD Group to launch a series of retro gaming-themed hotels in numerous cities across the United States, and now the two have tapped architectural expert Gensler to design its cyberpunk-inspired establishments.
As you can see from the gallery above, the concept designs for the Atari Hotels feature bright neon lights, massive digital displays, and even what appears to be holograms — reminiscent of scenes straight out of Bladerunner or Altered Carbon. The first two locations will open in Phoenix and Las Vegas, with more locations planned for Austin, Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, San Jose, and Seattle.
“Like Atari’s legacy in innovation, Atari Hotels is infusing synthetic reality into every aspect of the hotel, creating an immersive hospitality and gaming experience for our guests,” said Shelly Murphy, managing partner of the GSD Group. “From our virtual interactive world to the physical locations, every element of Atari Hotels will offer a unique and authentic experience for everyone.”
