Seiko Announces Three New "Black Series" Prospex Dive Watches
Back by popular demand.
Seiko Prospex has just announced three new watches as part of its updated “Black Series.” Inspired by the darkness experienced at great depths in the ocean, the “Black Series” takes the SLA021, the SPB, and SSC Solar, and treats the stainless steel cases with a black ion finish and orange/red detailing.
The SLA035 (SLA021 case) sees a robust 44.3 case size that’s fitted with the Caliber 8L35 movement and is rated to 300 meters. Next, the 45mm SPB125 acts as an extension/reissue of the “Black Series” Sumo last seen in 2018, with an updated Caliber 6R35 movement that has an increased power reserve of 70 hours, a new sapphire crystal, and is good up to 200 meters. Last is the Japan-exclusive SSC761. This watch features Seiko’s smaller Caliber V175 solar energy movement, an independent 24-hour hand, and a 60-minute chronograph.
The SLA035, SPB125, and SSC761 will be limited to 600, 7,000, and 3,400 pieces, priced at $2,900, $850, and $725 USD, respectively. Look for the updated “Black Series” to drop late February to March of this year.
