Rick Owens Unveils Vibrant Multi-Colored Lace Sneakers
Bondage detailing.
Lately, Rick Owens’ release stream has been filled with a range of lace-heavy footwear silhouettes, like the Maximal Runner or the Tecuatl Army Boots. After dropping a slew of monochromatic colorways, the label has delivered a multi-colored rendition of the bondage-inspired concept that takes shape in the form of a mold that closely resembles a Ramones low.
Made in Italy, a set of vibrant colors are set over a premium dark brown leather base. Soft cream-colored laces are complemented by other ones come in brown, light orange, red, mint and blue, wrapped throughout the body and bunching up at the forefoot. The laces are held together by metallic eyelets, starting from the backstay, working its way to the rear quarter, then around the collars, back down to the mid-section and finally ending at the toes — the piece comes with a protective rubber tonal toecap. All of these details sit atop a crisp white rubber midsole, featuring white stitching and Rick Owens’ signature serrated outsole for extra traction.
The Rick Owens Lace Sneakers are currently available at SSENSE’s website for $1,155 USD.
