After dropping its collaborative Danner TACHYON 6 Boots, Japanese label hobo has unveiled some upcoming SS20 footwear, offering a glimpse at some initial silhouettes for this year’s slate. Featured are two sets of leather deck shoes and sandals, grouped into four distinct colorways. Each model has been made in Spain with premium cow leather, equipped with a magnetic Fidlock closure.
First up are the deck shoes, coming in gray and khaki colorways in suede as well as versions in smooth black and brown leather. The silhouette sees a semi-structured dark leather insole, debossed with “hobo” branding and subtle perforations for extra breathability. At the upper quarter of the shoes is an essential Fidlock closure made up of a bright red pull, a magnetic clasp and durable ripstop straps that secure the foot in place. Below its rounded collars near the heel are square laces looped through silver-toned eyelets, complemented by an extra backstay panel. The front toe area of the shoe has been lined with thick stitching and reinforced on two ends of the throat line. All of these details sit atop a rugged midsole that’s slightly raised at the heel and curves up near the toes.
The next silhouette is the leather sandal, which also comes with a hi-tech Fidlock system for easy adjusting. All four colorways come in delicate nubuck that develops unique patinas over time. The front part of the uppers features an adjustable belt, while the topmost closure comes with the aforementioned Fidlock. Like the previously mentioned deck shoes, the magnetic clasp comes with a red pull and ripstop straps, contrasting the rest of the body. Furthermore, the sandal’s molded footbed has been constructed using a smooth leather material to minimize the effect of footmarks when worn. As a final note, the sandals see a breathable cork midsole, underscored by an EVA outsole for added comfort and cushioning.
The first delivery of hobo’s Deck Shoes and Sandals are currently available at hobo’s website for $250 USD and $185 USD, respectively.
