Clarks Originals Applies Hazy Watercolors Over Creamy Wallabees
Camo-inspired arrangements over premium suede.
Back in the middle of the month, we saw NEIGHBORHOOD put a technical spin on the Wallabee silhouette in a bold collaboration with Clarks Originals. But now the English footwear company has opted for a new iteration that focuses on classic sensibilities as opposed to the previous contemporary direction: this silhouette has been given expressive watercolor applications over lush premium suede.
Set atop a soft creamy beige foundation, gentle splashes of maroon and mossy green tones enliven the rugged moccasins, reflecting a sporadic camo pattern that offers a painterly look and feel. Starting at the top of the shoes, tonal laces are looped through the upper eyelets, complemented by similarly colored seams and top-stitching that appear over the collars, rear quarters and moc toes. To keep its vibrant pattern, the shoe has been given a subtle water-resistant treatment (Scotchgard), which also adds protection against stains. All of these features sit atop a yellow crepe midsole, a sticky wedge that offers grip and nods to the heritage of the classic Wallabee.
The Clarks Originals Wallabee “Off White Camo” is currently available at goodhood’s website for $143 USD.
