BILLY's & ASICS Link up for Blacked-Out GEL-PTG With Silver Highlights
Inspired by a glossy ’50s vehicle.

ASICS is back with its latest revamp of the GEL-PTG, this time with some help from Tokyo retailer BILLY’s. The silhouette is a spin on the retro FABREPOINTGETTER, a court classic that originally released in 1983. According to BILLY’s, this particular iteration of the GEL-PTG has been rendered in a black colorway inspired by a Japanese vehicle from the ’50s, imagined with a glossy black outer finish as well as rich blue interiors.
The top of the sneakers come with “ASICS” embroidery, followed by black laces along the forefoot. Tonal side stripes are placed at the lateral walls of the shoes, complemented by thin top-stitching. The heel counter comes with bold red “GEL” branding, reflecting the rear lights of a car. In contrast to the lateral sides, the medial sides come with silver-toned stripes to offset the dark color scheme. Rounding out the uppers, the metallic shoelace charm is engraved with “1983” as a nod to the aforementioned FABREPOINTGETTER silhouette. All of these details sit atop a black midsole, finishing off the design with a sleek nocturnal look and feel.
The BILLY’s-exclusive ASICS GEL-PTG is currently available at BILLY’s website for $120 USD.
