Y’s By Yohji Yamamoto has teamed up with adidas to release a new sneaker inspired by adidas’ classic Campus shoe. The Y’s x adidas CAMPUS STAN WEDGE features a midsole that appears to be heightened compared to the original Campus, thanks to a wraparound textured suede detail on each shoe. The silhouette comes in three colorways – black, gray and white – each offering unique design details that differentiate one another from the group.
The black version opts for a completely tonal look, informed by a black midsole and a black leather upper. The white colorway mixes things up a bit, with the addition of a contrasting off-white suede band around the upper, as well as a stark black heel tab. Staying true to the tonal theme of the trio, the gray option offers a deep gray suede upper with a midsole in a similar tone. A vibrant neon heel tab stands out amongst the neutral collection and serves as a reminder of warmer months.
On all three versions, text that reads “Super Position” is written in all caps and encased in a box, followed by “Y’s” branding on both the outside of the suede portion of the upper and on the insole. The shoe will offer an expanded size run, making this a gender neutral release.
The Y’s x adidas CAMPUS STAN WEDGE will be available at Y’s all stores, as well as on Y’s website.
Elsewhere in footwear, LI-NING’s new Arc Ace sneaker is inspired by the twisting roots of trees.
