Tudor Celebrates the New Zealand All Blacks With Limited Edition Black Bay Chrono Dark
Defending their title at the Rugby World Cup 2019.
In honor of the New Zealand All Blacks‘ upcoming title defense at the Rugby World Cup 2019, the event’s official partner Tudor has released a new limited edition Black Bay Chrono Dark.
Keeping with the All Blacks theme, Tudor has taken its standard Black Bay model and completely blacked it out. The 41mm case is coated in a matte black PVD treatment and houses an identically-toned dial with a twin-register chronograph — one for running seconds and the other for a 45-minute totalizer. Providing a crisp contrast is a white date indicator at six o’clock with white luminous hour markers occupying the other positions, completed with Tudor’s signature Snowflake hands.
Internally, the Black Bay Chrono Dark is powered by the brand’s manufacture caliber MT5813, which Tudor sources via its partnership with Breitling, another Swiss luxury watchmaker, holding a power reserve of 70 hours. Protected by a sapphire crystal, the timepiece can reach depths of up to 200 meters.
As a limited edition, Tudor has chosen to produce one unit for each player that has ever played for the All Blacks. While a new unit will be made for every new player added to the team in the future, the current amount stands at 1,181. Retail price is set at $5,925 USD, and the watch is now available at select Tudor retailers. To learn more, head over to Tudor’s website.
Elsewhere in watches, Seiko has unveiled its 15th anniversary “Monster Hunter” collection.
