maharishi and Suicoke Showcase a Tabi Sandal and Boot
The split-toed design gets a sleek reinterpretation.
While Maison Margiela has recently dropped a number of Tabi-inspired goods, ranging from sneakers to an entire capsule with SSENSE, maharishi and Suicoke have brought forth their own version of the split-toed Japanese footwear.
After releasing Tabi silhouettes in the past, maharishi goes bigger with a collaborative sandal and boot for the upcoming fall/winter season. Both models include Suicoke’s signature EVA footbed and outsole, utilizing a monochromatic black and white color scheme. The sleek Kuno is a three-way sandal with a removable neoprene sock, giving wearers the flexibility to wear the shoes throughout various climates. Crafted with leather and neoprene, the Maho boot also incorporates a minimal form while adding on features like maharishi’s distinctive Temple Bead and Snocord system borrowed from its functional snow pants.
The Tabi sandal and boot are scheduled to release on maharishi’s website on Sept. 20th, with a raffle drawing open from Sept. 16-17. In related news, Suicoke recently partnered with Aimé Leon Dore on a vibrant boot collection.
