Supa Bwe Unveils New 'Jaguar' Single "Animal (In My Dreams Freestyle)"
The Chicago rapper’s new EP will see release next month.
This past April, Supa Bwe unveiled a new EP titled Just Say Thank You. Made up of seven tracks, Just Say Thank You served as the prelude to Supa Bwe’s next major studio album and the follow-up to 2017’s Finally Dead, No Thanks. Now, continuing to build anticipation for the aforementioned LP, Supa Bwe is back with a new single in support of No Thanks‘ second prelude-EP, Jaguar. This time around, the forward-thinking Chicago artist is serving up a record known as “Animal (In My Dreams Freestyle).”
“I took acid & became a Jaguar!!” Supa Bwe writes in a statement posted to Genius, breaking down Jaguar. “This EP was stressful as f*ck but worth the experiences that come with it. I cried a lot, lost friends, fell deeper in love & found a new piece of myself. Something fierce & reliable. NO THANKS is next, but these EP’s (JSTY & JAGUAR) act as its predecessors.”
“It’s been the literal largest transformation in my life,” Supa Bwe added during a recent interview with Uproxx, opening up about his recent shift in artistic and sonic direction. “Before Finally Dead, things were really rocky for me. My entire life, I didn’t have a break the whole time. I legitimately wanted to off myself. I told my manager, ‘If anything ever happens to me, put everything in my sister’s name and put all my music on iTunes.’ I wasn’t thinking about a plan or anything. I don’t think I’ve hit rock bottom, but I was at a really low point at the time.”
You can check out Supa Bwe’s latest single, “Animal (In My Dreams Freestyle)” above, and stay tuned for more from his forthcoming album. Supa Bwe’s Jaguar EP will see release on October 4 via Freddy Got Magic/EMPIRE.
