Snow Peak Gets Technical With New Balance Tokyo Design Studio Capsule Collection
Featuring weather-resistant mid-cut boots and a roster of winter-ready garments.
New Balance‘s Tokyo Design Studio has enlisted techwear mainstay Snow Peak for its latest collaboration, working on a capsule comprised of both footwear and technically-indebted clothing.
Snow Peak — the heritage innovators of outdoor gear and clothing — has put its hands to a pair of EXTREME SPEC R_C4 MID sneaker-boots and a range of outerwear, such as the INDIGO C/N DOWN JACKET, as well as matching DOWN PANTS. Other additions to the upcoming collection include a boiler suit and a transforming vest-bag.
Each piece has been crafted using New Balance’s heritage combined with Snow Peak’s meticulous Japanese craftsmanship and technical know-how. Garments are backed by Snow Peak’s rigorous in-real-life verification, meaning the collection will perform as much as it serves a stellar utilitarian aesthetic.
The standout piece from the collection is the pair of sneaker-boots, which come in a mixed-material shade of black and blue. The mid-tops feature a durable and weather-resistant Cordura fabric, as well as GORE-TEX paneling, adjustable clips, tapped webbing branding and an ENCAP sole unit. The collection will be available globally on October 5.
