Bangkok-based rapper Thaiboy Digital drops “Lip Service,” the lead single off his debut album, Legendary Member, which is due on Sept. 26 on YEAR0001. The new track is featuring Ecco2k and produced by Gud. The bounce-happy track will make you jubilant the minute you press play, with Thaiboy Digital providing angelic one-liners over 808 drums.

On “Lip Service” Thaiboy Digital explains how the track came together, “It was me, Ecco and Gud in the studio in Stockholm, I don´t remember it very clearly but I think Gud might have played us a couple of beats and when we heard this particular one it was a big vibe.”

He adds, “I think Ecco went in first with the hook, and then we were in the booth going in on the rest of the song. The inspiration was straight up that exact moment right there in the studio, biggest vibe. I think on the last part it was me and Ecco going in on the chorus, and I think at one point even Gud came in to sing it. It´s hard to remember all the details, every ‘Legendary Member’ song we made is like a dream in my memory, I remember only bits and pieces of it.”

On album Legendary Member

Legendary Member is a big trip for sure, all the way from the beginning to the next place. You can expect all the joy it will bring to you plus lots of tracks you can turn up to, some tracks might get you like speechless, some might make you wanna start it all over again or just fuck it all and become one with your own self. But yeah, all the songs are a blessing straight from all of us to you.

This album wouldn’t have existed the next trillion years if it wasn’t for Ecco, Gud, Woesum, Bladee, Leany, Whitearmor and YEAR0001; also shout out ripsquad, shout out Big Sherm shout out Stockholm, shout out London and shout out Texas! Me alone would never have done what we accomplished Drain Gang GTB Forever.

On making the album

I was with my girlfriend in Bangkok, I think just did “Side by Side” with Bladee on his project “Icedancer” before flying to Sweden to record the first parts of the album. I remember I only came up with the name at that point and didn´t really have any specific plans or direction on which way the album was gonna go. But as always when the gang is together we always go way beyond everything.

It´s not really the environment that inspires me even though Bangkok is probably the craziest city I ever lived in, those who know they know but usually I make songs in Thailand when GTB is around, but I have done a couple songs previously in Thailand but thats just for fun with some of my friends here in Bangkok though.

Listen to the track above. Legendary Member will feature guest appearances from Yung Lean, Bladee and Ecco2K. The LP will be executive produced by Gud with co-production by Woesum, ripsquad and Whitearmor.
