Marni has pulled its latest inspiration from the produce world, crafting its new Fall/Winter 2019 Banana sneakers around the eponymous fruit and its ties to pop art. The Italian label has released the shoe in two silhouettes, including a slip-on and a laced version, with each style defined by its curved, smooth rubber outsole.

As a more obvious nod to the banana peel, the blue and green colorways of the lace-up have been fitted with a bold yellow sole. On the flip side, the fuchsia edition features a clean white outsole for a more minimal take on the aesthetic. Meanwhile, the black slip-on receives a subtle hint of yellow by way of a single stripe along the side panel. Each style in the range has been crafted of a technical stretch knit upper for a lightweight, yet sporty look.

The Banana sneaker is priced at $650 USD and available now from Marni boutiques and the brand’s webstore, as well as select retailers including East Dane and SSENSE.
