Maison Margiela keeps the deconstructed footwear pieces coming with an updated rendition of its Repaired New Sneaker. Following the darkened colorway seen last year, the latest iteration sees a silvery metallic coating, shining on a slew of fraying details.
In line with the atelier’s ethos for reconstructing familiar silhouettes, the Repaired New Sneaker fuses the label’s iconic Replica trainers with another sneaker that resembles the shape of a Converse Chuck Taylor. The top of the tongue comes with Maison Margiela’s numerical label, sewn over its exposed foam. Packed with a smooth leather upper, the top half of the sneaker features loosely tied laces and an eyelet panel that’s covered with a greyed-out finish. The bottom half of the shoe sees flat laces, metal eyelets and a more delicate textile that’s been slightly crinkled for contrast. All of these features sit atop a crisp white midsole, rounded off by a smooth rubber toe cap.
The silver-toned Maison Margiela Repaired New Sneaker is currently available at MATCHESFASHION.COM for $542 USD.
