Stephen Curry and MACHE Craft INFINITI QX50-Inspired Under Armour Shoe
A one-off automotive-indebted Curry 6.
On the heels of his special Under Armour Golf collection, Stephen Curry teams with sneaker customizer MACHE for a special pair of signature sneakers. Taking cues from sponsor INFINITI, this episode of Curry’s Life, Lived series showcases the process of making a special pair of QX50-inspired sneakers.
Over the course of just two-and-a-half minutes, the clip shows the process of Curry and MACHE deciding how to best incorporate the QX50’s unique design into a special Curry 6. From the sketching process to the spray-painting and appliqué, we watch how MACHE puts the ideas into motion.
Curry emphasizes the desire to make sure the car’s “luxury vibe comes through with the shoe,” taking color inspiration from the blue-trimmed interior and MACHE points out the “gunmetal grey from the rims.” Curry also cites the QX50’s perforated leather seats as a key detail, explaining that his ideal design is when “you see it from far away and it’s like, ‘thats a dope shoe,’ and it gets even better as you get closer.”
