For anyone who wants the nostalgia and “romance” of audio cassette tapes with the convenience of Airpods, a company has created the perfect amalgam; the It’s Ok cassette player.

NINM Lab, inventors of the Instant Back for Rangefinder and SLR cameras, has created its latest offering — the It’s Ok audio cassette player that harkens back to the 80s but with modern day bluetooth technology. Full functionality of cassettes is intact, such as rewind and fast forward, as well as popping in and out the antiquated media from the open-faced player. Its translucent design and a back clip allow the user to show off the nostalgia, while two modes — individual and open space — give flexibility to keep it personal or share the music via a bluetooth speaker. The unit even has a REC feature for note-taking or dictation via its incorporated mic. Lastly, the player retains a 3.5mm headphone jack, thus canceling out any modernity should you prefer a pure cassette player.

The It’s Ok cassette player is currently near its $12,000 USD backing goal on Kickstarter, with 31 days still to go as of July 4. Learn more at the NINM Labs Kickstarter backing page, and check out Fujifilm’s Instax Mini LiPlay — a device that allows you to add audio to photographs.
