HAWA Sings About a Toxic Relationship in “Kill Some" Video
The visual is directed by Keenan MacWilliam.
Rising new artist HAWA releases her third single “Kill Some,” which is produced by Tony Seltzer with additional production from Owwwls. To accompany the new record, the New York native drops a Keenan MacWilliam-directed music video for the single.
“‘Kill Some’ is a love song about a toxic relationship inspired by a true story,” she explains regarding the inspiration behind the new records. “The beginning of the song represents the beauty of new love but it also represents the insecurities built through loving in general. As the song progresses, the challenges of being in love with a gorgeous woman who you know could never truly be yours become more of a reality as you try to convince your conscience that anger and pain is the price to pay for love. But fairytales always come to an end.”
She adds, “‘Kill Some’ is just a little taste. I got more music on the way and to be honest I don’t know if people are ready for it.” HAWA debuted “Kill Some” during her Boiler Room set earlier this week
Somewhat of a musical savant, the recent high school graduate was traveled around the world as the youngest-ever composer for the New York Philharmonic Orchestra before giving it all up to create her own music.
In celebration of the new track and HAWA’s golden birthday, she will perform at Wallplay tonight in New York City. Later this month, she will perform at her label, b4’s one year anniversary at the Lot Radio on July 21 alongside labelmate Andrea Valle and others.
