'Avengers: Endgame' Earns $7.8M USD From Re-Release, Doesn't Beat out 'Avatar'
James Cameron‘s film is still the highest grossing film ever.

Marvel Studios‘ attempt to dethrone James Cameron‘s Avatar as the highest grossing film ever by re-releasing Avengers: Endgame over the weekend has failed short.
To entice fans, Marvel added a new deleted scene, a tribute to Stan Lee, and a preview of Spider-Man: Far From Home, which will release in the States later this week, to the Endgame re-release. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the re-released Endgame made $7.8 million USD over the weekend, earning $5.5 million USD domestically and $2.3 million USD overseas. This now brings Endgame‘s global box office revenue up to $2.76 billion USD, just $27 million USD shy of Avatar‘s $2.78 billion USD.
Endgame originally opened on April 26 while Spider-Man: Far From Home lands July 2.
