Champion & BEAMS Collaborate With Yu Nagaba for 'Toy Story' Collection
A must-cop for the Pixar fans.
In celebration of Pixar Animation Studios’ “The Science Behind Pixar” exhibition, BEAMS, Champion and Japanese artist Yu Nagaba have all linked up to release a Toy Story apparel collection. Comprised of six pieces, Champion is offering three classic reverse weave sweatshirts while BEAMS is unloading three T-shirts.
Champion mostly retains its classic athletic look in grey, black and white, and harkens back to the Star Wars collection from 2014. Featuring the words “WOODY” and “BUZZ” in a collegiate font, the names are outlined with hues reflecting the characters’ main color schemes in the franchise. A “PIXAR” logo sweatshirt is also included, but is ony available at the BEAMS Roppongi Hills store. All three pieces arrive with a stitched Champion “C” emblem on the left sleeve while character tokens — Woody, Buzz and the iconic Pixar ball — appear on the right.
The other half of the collection is a partnership between BEAMS and Nagaba, who draws a cheeky illustration of Woody and Buzz in his distinct artistic style against backdrops of orange, black and white. The black variant will also be a BEAMS Roppongi Hills exclusive.
The Champion x BEAMS x Yu Nagaba Toy Story collection is available for pre-order now with a release date of September 2019. The Champion reverse weave sweatshirts retail for approximately $120 USD, while the BEAMS x Yu Nagaba T-shirts fall at approximately $40 USD.
